In right triangle $ABC$ the right angle is at $C$ and $m\angle A = 30^\circ$. The perpendicular bisector of the hypotenuse $\overline{AB}$ meets leg $\overline{AC}$ at $D$, and $CD = 4$. Find $AC$.
