A spiral similarity (a rotation together with a dilation, both centered at the origin) can be represented as multiplication by a complex number $w$: it sends the point $z$ to $wz$. This spiral similarity sends $1+2i$ to $-4+2i$. Writing $w = p + qi$, find $p + q$.
