A bar graph shows votes for a class lunch party, but the numbers on the side were rubbed off. The pizza bar is labeled $12$ votes. The tacos bar is $4$ votes shorter than the pizza bar. The pasta bar is exactly half as tall as the tacos bar. How many votes were there in all for these three foods?
