Tom made a line plot of the number of pencils in each student's desk. Above $1$ there are $2$ X's, above $3$ there are $4$ X's, above $4$ there are $3$ X's, and above $5$ there is $1$ X. Then he noticed a mistake: the X above $5$ should have been above $3$. After he fixes the plot, what is the range of the data?
