A line plot shows how many library books each student has checked out. The key says: each X stands for $3$ students. Above $0$ there are $2$ X's, above $1$ there are $4$ X's, above $2$ there are $3$ X's, and above $3$ there is $1$ X. How many library books do these students have checked out altogether?
