Kai has a pile of sticks. Each stick is either $\dfrac{3}{8}$ inch or $\dfrac{5}{8}$ inch long. He picks some sticks whose lengths add up to exactly $3$ inches and makes a line plot of them. What is the fewest X's his line plot can have?
