A cart bounces between two springs: while its displacement is positive it obeys $y'' + y = 0$, and while it is negative it obeys $y'' + 4y = 0$ (position and velocity are continuous at $y = 0$). It is released from rest at $y = 1$. Find the period of the resulting motion.
