Two rectangles are drawn on a grid. The first has opposite corners $(1, 1)$ and $(7, 5)$. The second has opposite corners $(4, 3)$ and $(10, 8)$. Their sides run along grid lines, and they overlap. How many square units of the grid are covered by at least one rectangle?
