Twelve islanders sit at a round table, in seats numbered 11 to 1212. Each islander is either a knight, who always tells the truth, or a knave, who always lies. Every one of them says: “Both of my neighbors are knaves.” In how many ways can the twelve seats be filled with knights and knaves so that all twelve statements are consistent?
