Integrals I: Feynman's Trick · Superchallenge problem

Suppose xx is a real number with x+1xx + \dfrac1x an integer. Induction shows xn+1xnx^n + \dfrac{1}{x^n} is an integer for every n≥1n \ge 1. If x+1x=3x + \dfrac1x = 3, compute x5+1x5x^5 + \dfrac{1}{x^5}.
